It started with a song...

In order to have a CD Release Benefit Concert, you must start with a CD to release. In the fall of 2006 after returning from a two week exposure missions trip, my family and I produced a CD of original songs from the exact children that she met living in and around the Kibera slum. They called it Asante Mungu Baba, translated into "Thank You Our Father". We ended up with a product many notches away from the quality of to the African Children Choir, but at it's core it had the same heart and vision.

When returning to Baylor I was emboldened to release the CD to the student population, and enlisted other students to help.  The first concert was in 2007.

None of the success of these concerts totally over $120,000 could have been achieved without the amazing support of my friends and family. A special thanks to UBC Waco for sending the money through all these years. This season was by far the most miraculous, in terms of outpouring of time and money to help champion a cause.
